Peer Review Process
Jurnal tribologi employs double-blind peer review, in which the author is uninformed of the reviewer's identity and the reviewer is unaware of the author's identity.
At least two review reports are collected for each submitted manuscript. The Editorial staff (the Editor-in-Chief, a Guest Editor, or another suitable Editorial Board member) may suggest reviewers utilizing qualified Editorial Board members, qualified reviewers from our database, or new reviewers identified by web searches for related articles.
Authors have the option of recommending potential reviewers. Editorial staff ensure that no potential conflicts of interest exist and will not consider individuals with conflicting interests.
Reviewers who accept to review a manuscript are expected to:
-
Have the necessary expertise to judge manuscript quality;
-
Provide quality review reports and remain responsive throughout peer-review;
-
Maintain standards of professionalism and ethics.
Reviewers who accept a review invitation are provided 21 days to write their review via our online platform, Editorial System. Extensions can be granted on request.
For the review of a revised manuscript, reviewers are asked to provide their report within 14 days. Extensions can also be granted on request.
In cases where only minor or major revisions are recommended, Editorial staff will request that the author revise the manuscript prior to the Editor-in-Chief making the final decision. When conflicting review reports are received, or when one or more recommendations for rejection are made, the Editor-in-Chief will be requested for their judgement before communicating a revision decision to authors.
Revised versions of manuscripts may or may not be sent to reviewers, depending on the reviewer's request. By default, reviewers who request major revisions or recommend rejection will be sent the revised manuscript. All reviewers can access the most recent version of the manuscript via Editorial System.
A maximum of two rounds of major revision per manuscript is normally provided. If more rounds are required according to the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief will make a decision.
